How your ID photo is made
Snap your face with your webcam and the AI separates you from the background and crops to the official size. Your photo is processed inside your browser and is never uploaded to a server.
How to use it
- Pick the format you need (passport, visa, resume, etc.), then take a photo with your webcam or upload one. Fit your face inside the oval with your eyes on the dashed line.
- The AI detects your face and auto-crops it to the chosen format's dimensions and face-size ratio. Fine-tune the position with the Zoom and up/down/left-right sliders.
- Choose White, Blue, Red, or Light Gray and the AI separates you from the background and swaps it. You can also keep the original background.
- Download a 300 DPI JPG, or grab a 4×6 inch print sheet with several copies and print it cheaply at a pharmacy or photo kiosk.
When it helps
Tip Most passports require a white or off-white background, a neutral expression, and even lighting. Shooting straight-on against a bright white wall with no shadows gives the cleanest AI background swap. Background-color rules vary by document — check your government's guidelines first.
Your face photo is not uploaded to a server — how?
Most ID photo sites and ID Photo Booth work in fundamentally different ways.
⚠️ Until it is deleted, your face stays on someone else's server.
✅ Your photo doesn't leave over the network — not a single byte. "0 B uploaded" is a measured value.
The face detection and background separation (the AI model) run right inside the web page, so for something as irreversible as your face, this approach is safer.
How it works
What do I get?
A correctly sized JPG at 300 DPI (e.g., 2×2 inch / 600×600 px for a US passport), plus an optional 4×6 inch print sheet with multiple copies — print it at any pharmacy or photo kiosk for ~$0.35 instead of paying $17 for a "passport photo service".
Which formats are supported?
US Passport (2×2 in), EU/Schengen visa (35×45 mm), UK, Japan, Korea passport (35×45 mm), China visa (33×48 mm), India passport/OCI (2×2 in), Korean resume 이력서 (3×4 cm), and square profile photos.
Are these photos accepted officially?
The tool crops to official dimensions and face-size ratios. You are responsible for meeting the other requirements: neutral expression, even lighting, plain light background (use a white wall), no glasses/hat. Check your government's guidelines before submitting.
Can it replace the background?
Yes. After your face is detected, pick White, Blue, Red, or Light Gray in the "Adjust & download" step. An AI model (downloaded once, about 16MB) separates you from the background right in your browser, so you can shoot against any wall and still get a compliant backdrop. Most passports require white or off-white; blue and red are common for visas and some national IDs — check your government's guidelines. If the AI can't process your photo, the original background is kept.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Face detection, background replacement, and cropping run entirely in your browser. The photo never leaves your device.
